The Joint Requirements Oversight Council will be conducting an integrated air and missile defense capability gap assessment as part of its next requirement for the Joint Warfighting Concept following four recently signed "strategic directives." Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. John Hyten said today at the Space and Missile Defense Symposium in Huntsville, AL, he signed a new requirements document called a "strategic directive" July 1 on four supporting concepts: joint fires, contested logistics, joint command and control, and information advantage. The strategic directives will be issued to the services in a new approach to more directly support the four concepts so they can "deliver capabilities right from the beginning that will meet the joint concept that we have," Hyten said. The JROC in the next month will hold an industry day where it will brief details of the four strategic directives, he added.
