Of late, "...there has been an increasing trend for ... companies to invest in customized leadership-development programs" (Watson, 2007, p. 48). University providers of custom executive education (EE) programs strive to be responsive to their corporate clients. The duration, objectives, location, blend of topics, the pace, and the learning materials are all issues given careful thought during program design. There can be, however, a problematic egalitarian view within the hallways of academe. That view is: any one of a university's full-time professors is a viable candidate for inclusion on a custom EE program instructional team when a program topic:1.aligns with that instructor's subject-matter area or;2.the instructor has had success with degree-seeking students.
