As a Vietnam draftee, I had mixed feelings while reading about the use of robots in war ["The Terminators," May, page 36]. Tactically it seems like a great idea: It keeps our soldiers out of harm's way. Strategically, however, it is a scary thought for exactly the same reason. If our leaders know there is no threat to our sons and daughters, they will be more inclined to enter a war. They are already protected from public outcry by our volunteer army.
