摘要

Analysis of the fatty acid composition is a useful method for identification of microorganisms, particularly bacterial strains [1]. Microeukaryotes contain polyunsaturated fatty acids, aerobic prokaryotes contain monounsaturated fatty acids, and Gram-positive and other anaerobic bacteria contain saturated and branched C16-C19 fatty acids [2]. Analysis of the fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) profiles of bacteria is widely used for rapid determination of the fatty acid composition of lipids [3].
