摘要

The Bavarian automobile manufacturer BMW develops all its lines of research toward the maximum ecological accountability of car travel, especially regarding propulsion systems. BMW has always been at the forefront of high-performance propulsion systems, and the challenge of making electric cars offers the opportunity to start from an entirely new concept for automobile design. Since 2013, BMW and Solarwatt GmbH have been collaborating on the development of sustainable solutions for electric vehicles and travel services for the recharging of electric cars. The project, called 360° Electric, offers solutions that cover all aspects of electric travel. The BMW i3 car is designed for mass production, conceived to run exclusively on electricity, and be suitable for needs of private travel in large city regions. Innovation is manifest in all aspects of its design, in the choice of materials and the range of technology. The carbon-fibre passenger cell was designed with well-proportioned lines, specially studied colours and built-in LED lighting.
