French companies GIE Dragages Ports, Bordeaux Port Atlantique, and shipyard SOCARENAM on 22 December signed a contract for the construction of a new water injection dredger (WID) that will run on LNG. The new dredger, to be named L'Ostrea, will have efficiency features including two azimuth thrusters, a bow thruster, dynamic positioning, and a powerful service crane. L'Ostrea will measure 40 m by 11 m, and have a service speed of 12 kt. The water injection pressure will be 2.5 bar.
