With a heavy clunk, the steel outer doors of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault closed on February 28th, shutting out a howling Arctic gale and entombing a tonne of new arrivals: 25,000 seed sam ples from America, Colombia, Costa Rica, Tajikistan, Armenia and Syria. For Carey Fowler, the vault's American architect, the Syrian chickpeas and fava beans were es pecially welcome.

7. This study aims at examining the effects of electronic banking on banks profitability in Jordan. How banking sector finds itself before a new fact imposed by technology revolution and digits to change their work mechanisms from traditional means to electronic means and the challenges banks face as a result.
