Sir - While un health scientists reported that no member of the Japanese public received a dangerous dose of radiation from the meltdowns at Fukushima, your article ("The dream that failed", March 10th) omitted any substantive discussion of the one clear casualty of this crisis: Japan's efforts to reduce the carbon emissions driving dangerous climate change. With all but two of the nation's 54 reactors sitting idle, Japan has eschewed the atom in favour of coal, oil and liquefied natural gas. The result?
