The OECD is a unique forum where the governments of 34 market democracies work together to address the economic, social and governance challenges of the globalising world economy, as well as to exploit its opportunities. The Science and Technology Policy (STP) Division informs, advises and supports policy makers in developing S&T and innovation policies for sustainable economic growth and social improvement. In line with the OECD's mission and in fulfillment of the Secretary-General's objectives: better policies for better lives, the Science, Technology and Industry Directorate plays a key role in building OECD's global reputation for measurement, analysis and recommendation through extensive work with governments, other international organisations, businesses and civil society. The STP Division contributes to work across the OECD, including on fostering development, tackling climate change and infectious diseases, spurring growth and stimulating employment through co-operation and technology transfer.
