A manufacturer of plastic automotive fuel tanks is saving £24,000 a year on its energy bill following the installation of ABB variable-speed drives. Tl Automotive of Flint in North Wales makes 180,000 high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic fuel tanks a year for global automakers. As part of a group wide initiative to cut energy bills, Tl Automotive asked ABB Drives Alliance member Central Group to investigate its applications and recommend where energy use could be reduced.
