Over the last decade, large companies (primarily manufacturers) with sizable budgets for MRO and OEM supplies have looked to distributors to supply and manage their invent-ries. Where the large companies' internal purchasing departments used to secure and store these items, now much of the procurement, storage and inventory management function is outsourced.
