In mid-July, Sony, Canon, Eastman Kodak, Hitachi, JVC, KDDI, Kenwood, Matsushita (Panasonic), Nikon, Olympus, Pioneer, SAMSUNG, Seiko, Sony Ericsson, and Toshiba formed the TransferJet Consortium to develop specifications for interconnecting consumer-electronics (CE) products using a new interoperable wireless transfer technology called Transfer-Jet. Unveiled earlier this year by Sony, the technology will let users transfer high-resolution video, music, and images at speeds of 560 Mbits/s without a physical connection between devices.
