China-based AsiaInfo-Linkage has secured a major business supportrnsystem (BSS) transformation deal from Telenor. The deal marksrnAsiaInfo's first project with a tier-1 European telecommunicationsrnoperator and, significantly, BMI believes it will give the softwarernsolutions vendor greater credibility when approaching other Europeanrnoperators looking to rationalise their back-office customerrnmanagement solutions and deliver much-needed cost savings.rnHowever, AsiaInfo will be competing with well-entrenched Europeanrnvendors – particularly Ericsson – with greater insight into thernregion's particular needs.
