Ericsson has evolved its strategic focus as it adapts to a changing landscapenthat presents both significant challenges and opportunities for thenworld's leading telecoms equipment vendor. The boom in wireless datanservices and the rapid proliferation of mobile services in developingnmarkets has underpinned revenue growth. However, at the same time,nmargins have been eroded by intense competition from Chinese vendorsnHuawei and ZTE, which has hit Ericsson, along with Nokia SiemensnNetworks and Alcatel-Lucent. BMI analyses Ericsson's recent performancenin Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) within this context, andnevaluates its local strategy and product portfolio against our mediumtermnviews for the market.
