摘要

This paper presents the experimental measurements of the transmittivity of commerical grade stearic acid. The effects of temperature and thickness on transmittance have been studied. The study indicates that the effect of temeprature on the transmittance of stearic acid in the liquid phase is not signficant. However, it is highly dependent on temeprature during the solidification process. Because of its low thermal conductivity and high transmittivity, it can be used as a transparent insulating material.
