2D numerical experiments have been performed on the convection of a binary fluid confined in an axisymmetrical cylinder of aspect ratio 2. The Oberbeck-Boussinesq equation with Soret effect are Solved with a pseudo-spectral method. A description Of the different transitions between conductive, Oscillatory and stationary states is given. A first des- Cription of the solutions of the periodic states displays The presence of stationnary and travelling waves in This cavity. That travelling nature depends strongly On the value of the Rayleigh number. We also present A model to quantify more precisely the travelling na- Ture of these waves.
