摘要

This paper discusses the application of an exergoeconomic analysis and an exergetic life cycle assessment (ELCA) for an aniline proces. The exergoeconomic analysis is a powerful tool for obtaining insights for the economic optimization of the process. Interdependencies among the process units cause complications in the analysis. In the ELCA, the exergy destruction due to equipment manufacturing and maintenance, process operation, feedstock preparation and plant retirement are taken into account. The results show that the energy destruction in the operational phase dominates the total life cycle exergy destruction.
