摘要

Brownfields redevelopment advocates are rallying their colleagues to lobby key lawmakers on the value of an expired tax incentive for redevelopment, hoping Congress will include the provision allowing deduction of cleanup expenses in the year-end tax extender bill, though they acknowledge they face an "uphill battle." "This is a call to arms to the brownfields community," Daniel Walsh, director of the New York City Office of Environmental Remediation, said on an April 11 webinar presented by the National Association of Local Government Environmental Professionals and the National Brownfields Coalition. The webinar aimed to explain the benefits of the tax incentive and outlined advocates' plans to get it reinstated.
