摘要

Members of Congress called for the resignation of EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder at a House hearing March 17 over how they approached the crisis that left the 100,000 residents of Flint exposed to lead in their drinking water. Some lawmakers said McCarthy was to blame for lack of action in Flint and for failing to take responsibility during the House Oversight Committee hearing. Others voiced frustration with Snyder, saying the Republican governor's inaction was serious because the state was in charge of regulating that water. It was hardly the first time Snyder has been called on to resign. There have been many calls for him to leave his job, including some by Democratic presidential hopefuls. However, in the midst of investigations and after EPA's regional leader resigned over the crisis, there hadn't been any major push previously for McCarthy to resign.
