摘要

It got little more than a passing mention in the main debate, but two Republican presidential candidates currently polling in the low single digits said at the earlier Oct. 28 debate that their party needed to acknowledge the science of climate change and lean on the private sector for solutions to the problem. Gov. Chris Christie (N.J.) was the lone contender to field a question during the prime-time debate on climate change and said the U.S. should "work with the private sector to make" alternative energy sources more affordable as he had in his state. "That is the way we deal with global warming, climate change, or any of those problems, not through government intervention, not through government taxes," Christie said. "For God's sake, don't send Washington another dime until they stop wasting the money they're already sending there."
