摘要

Shifting more travel to public transit, reducing energy use in residential and commercial buildings and other "climate-smart" development policies could boost global gross domestic product by at least $1.8 trillion per year by 2030, a 1.5 percent increase over a business-as-usual scenario, according to a new World Bank report. Potential benefits could reach up to $2.6 trillion, or 2.2 percent additional global GDP, by 2030 if financing and technology investment increased, the report said. The report examined the impact of sector-specific policies to reduce emissions of greenhouse gas emissions and short-lived climate pollutants across five countries and the European Union. It is meant to help policymakers, finance and development organizations, and others assess the overall value of different policies and projects.
