The U.S. needs to find ways to diversify its sources of critical industrial minerals if it wants to reduce the risk of harmful supply-chain disruptions, witnesses told a congressional subcommittee July 23. That diversification especially should involve fostering domestic production of minerals and domestic manufacturing of products made with those minerals, the industry and government witnesses said.
