Alaska can challenge a ban on new logging roads on millions of acres of national forest, a federal appeals court ruled Nov. 7 in a case the state says is crucial to its timber industry (Alaska v. U.S. Dep't of Agric, D.C. Cir., No. 13-5147, 11/7/14). Alaska's lawsuit, filed in 2011, isn't time-barred, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled, reversing a lower court that dismissed the case (Alaska v. U.S. Dep't of Agric, No. l:ll-cv-01122, D.D.C, 3/21/13).
