The second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol should run from Jan. 1, 2013, through Dec. 31, 2020, the environment ministers of the 27 European Union countries said March 9.Meeting in an EU Environment Council in Brussels, the ministers agreed to put forward the dates to the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Kyoto Protocol, which meets May 15-24 in Bonn and which will continue negotiations on the details of agreements made in December at the United Nations climate summit in Durban, South Africa.
