The Environmental Protection Agency published a notice July 18 withdrawing portions of a Bush-era final rule that amended national emissions standards for hazardous air pollutants from petroleum refineries (76 Fed. Reg. 42,052). EPA is withdrawing the residual risk and technology review portions of the final rule, effective Aug. 17. EPA may later issue a new proposed rule to address residual risk and technology reviews related to petroleum refineries.
