The Environmental Protection Agency established the performance measures to verify the accuracy of predictive emissions monitoring systems for major sources of air pollution in a final rule published March 25 (74 Fed. Reg. 12,575).rnThe rule finalizes Performance Standard 16, which establishes procedures that must be used to verify that predictive emissions monitoring systems (PEMS) are acceptable substitutes for current monitoring systems and that they can demonstrate compliance with emissions monitoring requirements.
