The Department of Housing and Urban Development published May 4 a notice of availability of $20 million in brownfields economic development initiative (BEDI) funds (74 Fed. Reg. 20,494).rnDavid Kaminsky, who works on development grants in HUD's Office of Economic Development, said the funds will be awarded competitively, and individual grants are capped at $2 million.rnBEDI grant funds are targeted for use in redeveloping brownfield sites as part of larger urban economic development projects, according to HUD.
