The federal research and development budget request for fiscal 2010 would increase funding for climate change research by about $46 million and decrease funding for the National Nanotechnology Initiative by $17 million, according to information,released May 7 by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).rnThe White House is requesting a research and development allocation of $147.6 billion for all federal agencies and departments, just 0.4 percent above the $147 billion those agencies estimate they received in fiscal 2009, according to OSTP information.
