California's proposed climate change policies will boost household incomes by $48 billion and create 403,000 jobs, according to an economic study by the University of California, Berkeley.rnReleased Oct. 20, the report hinges on the state's ability to improve energy efficiency by at least 1 percent a year.rn"Energy Efficiency, Innovation, and Job Creation in California" paints a much more optimistic picture of the economic benefits of implementing the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (A.B. 32) than an analysis by state officials that was released in September (39 ER 1888, 9/19/08).
