Production Action Plan published this week as a "Non-Action" Plan. "We have been very much looking forward to the Commission's Action Plan on Sustainable Consumption, Production and Industry," said BEUC in a 16 July statement. "Would it finally set objectives for a more sustainable use of natural resources? Tackle the problem of toxicity of chemical substances or the proliferation of self-declared "green" labels? Ban 'green wash', a tactic which exploits for example climate change by proclaiming the merits of a 4x4 polluting slightly less than the others? Encourage retailers to take the least sustainable products off their shelves?" BEUC asked.
