In recent years, there has been very high growth in consumption of all types of energy, especially fossil fuels. Because oil and gas resources are limited, countriesrnaround the world will have to depend increasingly on coal as a primary energy source. This is the case in India, where commercial energy demand is expected to grow even more rapidly in future years than it has in the past.
