摘要

Current society is characterized by risk and uncertainty as products of the phenomenon of economic globalization, where the hegemony of instrumental rationality (reflected in the search for profitability and maximum benefit) has broken away from any ethical approach. The consequences of this in social work could mean a loss of its founding principles, based on the value-rationality, and a loss of its identity as an agent for the development of emancipation of citizenship and social wellbeing. In this context, our work seeks to provide arguments to counteract professionally these social shortfalls by recovering critical-creative thinking and fostering a social initiative, empowerment of citizenship and consensus.So, the aim is to present a twin proposal for European higher education and professional practice of social work, by devising a concept of Shared Social Responsibility as a theoretical reference for drawing up the guidelines for action. In the academic sphere, we propose two new general standards to bring the profile of future professionals up to date. In the professional sphere, we propose some initial ideas to extend the exercise of social work far from conventional functions in order to counteract the current social shortfalls in economical and political areas. La sociedad actual es una sociedad caracterizada por el riesgo y la incertidumbre como resultado del proceso de globalización económica, en el que la hegemonía de la racionalidad instrumental (reflejada en la búsqueda de la rentabilidad y el máximo beneficio) se ha escindido de todo planteamiento ético. La consecuencia de todo lo anterior en la práctica del trabajo social podrıa significar una pérdida de sus principios fundacionales basados en la racionalidad sustantiva, ası como la pérdida de su identidad como agente promotor para el desarrollo de la emancipación de la ciudadanıa y el bienestar social. En este contexto, este trabajo busca proporcionar argumentos que contrarresten profesionalmente estos déficits sociales mediante la recuperación del pensamiento crıtico-creativo y la promoción de la iniciativa social, el empoderamiento de la ciudadanıa y el consenso. En este sentido, se presenta una doble propuesta para la Educación Superior Europea y el ejercicio profesional del trabajo social, a partir de la elaboración del concepto de Responsabilidad Social Compartida, como una referencia teórica que perfile las directrices de actuación en ambos terrenos. Ası, en el ámbito académico, se proponen dos nuevas competencias generales que proporcionen la actualización del perfil de los futuros egresados en trabajo social. En el ámbito profesional, se presentan unas ideas iniciales que desarrollen la práctica del trabajo social más allá de sus funciones convencionales con el fin de contrarrestar los actuales déficits sociales de las esferas económica y polıtica.
