Marc serrao went looking for new baked goods ideas but found technology instead. Perhaps divine intervention then led him to the door of Jim Brubaker, a friend and local solution provider proficient in point-of-sale solutions for small businesses. When researching ways to improve his thriving business, which includes a retail building with a cafe and another building for baking, Serrao travels from the Pittsburgh suburb of Oakmont to destinations such as New York and San Francisco to look at other bakeries' wares, he said. On one such trip he came across a POS solution at a bakery that he quickly concluded would be less time-consuming and more productive and cost-effective than the system of four networked cash registers his business was using.
