It's a quiet Friday afternoon here at my Silicon Valley headquarters. The cool breeze off San Francisco Bay feels refreshing as it wafts through the screen in my office window. Those nasty black squirrels that have dominated the neighborhoods for years since escaping from a breeding test gone awry over at SRI International (true story) in Menlo Park are having a field day in our walnut trees. What a mess they make! Yawn. There's not a data storage news story anywhere on the horizon-or any that we can discuss here, anyway. (Embargoes do not count.) Of course, by Monday I'll be back in the routine, with plenty of articles to post and publish.
