摘要

To evaluate a hepatocarcinogenesis model of transplanted VX2 carcinoma, we investigated clinical and pathological features of VX2 carcinoma transplanted in the liver of rabbits. A total of 20 male rabbits (Slc:JW/Csk), 12- week-old, were randomly separated into 2 groups consisted of 10 animal each. The VX2 carcinoma cell line originated from Shope cottontail rabbit papilloma was transplanted into the liver of rabbits in Group 1 and sham operation was done in animals of Group 2. At 2 weeks after the operation, All rabbits were sacrificed under ketamine plus xylazine anesthesia, and histopathologically examined. No significant differences in body weight gain, hematology and serum biochemistry were observed between two groups. In histopathology, all of tumors observed in the livers of Group 1 were squamous cell carcinomas with higher positive ratio for PCNA-immunostaining. Furthermore, the number of PCNA positive cells in the non-neoplastic area in the liver of Group 1 were significantly increased as compared with those in Group 2. These results suggested that transplanted VX2 carcinoma in rabbit would be useful as an carcinogenesis model for squamous cell carcinomas in the liver, and our current data would be helpful for research experiments of the hepatocarcinogenesis model in rabbit.
