摘要

Previously we had reported the effects of peach ingestion as no change in HbAlc and even decreases in total cholesterol and adiponectin level in plasma, instead of increases in food intake, total calorie and body weight gain. In this study, to confirm the effects and investigate the possible effective parts of peach, we performed further experiments with mixing of 10% peach ingredients (full parts, the pericarp or sarcocarp) into chow, and resulting compounds being administered by every week pair-feeding schedule to diabetic male db/db mice. There were no changes in any of body weight gain, glucose, HbAlc, total cholesterol,triglyceride, insulin or leptin level in plasma, though adiponectin level again decreased. The present results suggest that dietary peach ingestion may have little, if any, prophylactic or adverse effects on glucose and lipid metabolism in diabetic db/db mice.
