Hamburg Sued recently celebrated the christening of its container ship Cap San Lorenzo at the Exolgan Terminal in Buenos Aires. It's the fourth container ship christening in a series of six in the Cap San class with Cap San Nicolas, Cap San Marco, and Cap San Augustin delivered in 2013, and the Cap San Antonio and Cap San Raphael delivered in January 2014. All the vessels in this class have a nominal slot capacity of 9,600teu and are some of the largest in the shipowning group. Hamburg Slid states that the Cap San Lorenzo and its sister ships each have 2,100 reefer slots and are currently the world's largest ships for reefer capacity. The Cap San Lorenzo has an overall length of 333.2m, abeam of 48.2, a depth of 26.8m, and is classed by GL. It was delivered from the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan in July 2013 and will operate the liner service between Europe and the East coast of South America after the ceremony.
