Poor visibility will always be a hazard, particularly in confined or busy waters, so anything that can make navigation and manoeuvring safer in such circumstances is to be welcomed. That is the reasoning behind C-Vigil's decision to add the Fujinon D60 camera to its product range. Steve Smith, the company's director, explained that the camera's "impressive" performance in penetrating fog and mist is based on its visible cut filters, which sharpen the image in black-and-white mode. Infrared filters significantly improve vision during night operations.
