Air Fertigung Technologie in Germany, the company behind the development of the revolutionary Vector Prop propulsion technology has obtained a series of orders for the technology, and says it plans to deliver the first system, for installation on an inland ferry in Germany, early in 2007. Dr Dirk Buchler, one of the founders of Air Fertigung Technologie said the first application of the Vector Prop would be on a ferry capable of transporting around 160 passengers; another application for which an order has been received is for a large pleasure craft. A third order has also been received, but Dr Buchler was unable to divulge the nature of the order for commercial reasons.
