Investors have recently made moves to buy up interests in two African ports, demonstrating the potential that exists for expansion. A Franco-Chinese consortium, comprising shipping group CMA CGM, Bollore Transport & Logistics, and China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), has signed a 25-year operating concession forthe new container terminal in the Cameroonian port of Kribi.
