Fairplay takes a look at which South Korean yards have secured the most ship orders in 2017 and the state of the orderbook for containers, tankers, and gas carriers. No bulk carriers have been ordered in South Korea this year. DSME tops the list, securing 38.3% of orders placed in South Korea in 2017, in terms of gross tonnage, followed very closely by HHI with 38.1%. In third place is Samsung HI with 15.3%, while four other yards account for the remaining 8.3%.
