On 31 December 2015, the 73,021 dwt Theo T departed NuStar's terminal in Corpus Christi, after being loaded with crude produced by ConocoPhillips at the Eagle Ford shale field in Texas. The Greek-owned vessel, operated by Heidmar's Star Tankers pool, set sail for Italy on behalf of shipper Vitol, the Switzerland-based commodities trader. The voyage marked the first international delivery of US crude following the lifting of the country's export ban - and the dawn of a new era for tanker trades.
