Maher Terminals has notified the box sector that it will accept containers for export only if carriers provide its verified weight by transmission of electronic data information (EDI) before the box arrives at the terminal gate. The Port of New York-New Jersey terminal operator said that in order to comply with the regulation, carriers must include the verified gross mass of the container they receive from the shipper in their EDI.
