The Ports of Auckland board has appointed Liz Coutts as its chairwoman. Rodger Fisher, acting chairman since the resignation of former board chief Graeme Hawkins, did not stand for the position and has returned to his duties as deputy chairman. Coutts, who took control on 7 December 2015, is the first chairwoman of the board. "The company has made huge progress since I was first appointed to the board in 2010," she noted in a statement. "Under chief executive Tony Gibson, barriers to the employment of women stevedores have been broken down and the company culture has changed significantly, leading to a much more diverse and productive organisation.
