Regulatory approvals in multiple jurisdictions could delay Maersk Line's plan to acquire Hamburg Slid until the end of 2017. Approval is expected after this lengthy process, but when Hamburg Sued of Germany does finally join the container arm of Copenhagen's Maersk Group, it will put more daylight between the world's largest box line and second-placed Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), its partner in the 2M Alliance.
