US containerised ocean trade via European ports, including transhipment cargoes, increased by 3.5% year on year (y/y) to 4.7 million teu in the 12 months ending March 2015, according to the IHS Maritime PIERS database of US international trade. While US exports fell 4.6% to a little more than 1.9 million teu, US imports, comprising 59.3% of trade, rose 9.9% to nearly 2.8 million teu.
