Products exports - The traditional strategy to circumvent the crude export ban is to refine crude and export products. Citi commodities head Edward Morse believes that by mid-2015, the United States will surpass Russia as the world's largest exporter of petroleum products. Crude exports to Canada - US crude exports to Canada are allowed - and surging. "The US was exporting 30,000bpd [to Canada] at the beginning of 2012,60,000bpd at the beginning of 2013, and 200,000bpd by the end of 2013. It appears we could see that ramp up to around 400,000bpd by the end of this year," said Morse.
