Demand for Panamax chartered box ships remains high, illustrated by reports of the first Panamax fixture at $10,000/day for a trans-Pacific round-voyage. Rate assessments for geared 1,100teu and 1,700teu types, by contrast, were marked down a little despite decent fixing activity in Asia, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
