摘要

Containers are continuing to flow through US west coast ports even though a six-year docker contract expired on 1 July. But nervous shippers are left wondering whether the situation can last without a disruption that could upend trans-Pacific supply chains. No agreement was reached to extend the current contract, but the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA), which represents terminal operators and shipping lines, and the International Longshore & Warehouse Union (ILWU), which represents about 13,600 employees at 29 ports, pledged to keep cargo moving until a new accord is reached.
