With a new yard due to enter service next year, specialist tug builder Sanmar believes it can use its expertise profitably to build offshore supply and construction vessels. Firmly established as the leading tug builder in Turkey and a leader in its field worldwide, Sanmar - currently established in the Tuzla shipbuilding zone - is building a new shipyard in Altinova Yalova, situated about 75 minutes from Tuzla by car or ferry. Sanmar makes the point, however, that the new Izmit Bay bridge, which is currently under construction, will reduce journey time between the two sites to 25 minutes.
